Parish Administrator
Chartwell Cooperating Parish, Hamilton
Part-time 

Chartwell Cooperating Parish is a family-oriented Anglican-Presbyterian-Methodist parish.
We are looking for an administrator to provide front office and back-office support for the parish. 
You will be one of the faces of our Church, a point of contact for both the church and wider community: engaging, friendly, and polite. 
You must be well organised as you will be providing reception as well as administrative support to our Ministry Team, Parish Council, Executive Team and various other volunteers.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Reception duties, both digital and face-to-face
  • Supporting the organisation of weekly services 
  • Preparing the weekly newsletter 
  • Managing church rosters 
  • General administration support 
  • Minute secretary for the Executive Team (evening meeting once per month, 10 times per year). 

Must haves 

  • Proven administration experience 
  • Proficient with IT systems particularly Office 365, including SharePoint 
  • Familiarity with day-to-day accounting procedures and accounting software 
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal 
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality 
  • Problem-solving, can-do attitude 
  • Firm, polite and creative in the face of competing demands 
  • Values that align with the Parish’s vision and mission 

 

Desirable skills and expertise 

  • Familiarity with Xero Accounting and iPayroll  

 

This role provides flexibility and opportunities to work in an environment with a lot of variety. The hours are 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
