Ministries & Support

The Great commandment states: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, all your mind, and with all your strength, and love your neighbour as yourself”.

In light of the great commandment we believe we are called to be a community who values, cares and supports those who have made St Alban’s their spiritual home and we value what we have. We also need to seek ways to be present, active and discerning of the spirituality and needs of those in the rapidly developing new community in which we live.

Children’s Ministry

Chartwell Church provides ministry for children and young people with the goal, “To Grow God’s Kids”. Our ministry is:

  • Christ centered and biblically grounded in the faith of our partner churches.
  • Care orientated that respects each child’s age, gender, culture and developmental needs
  • Community sensitive that respects each child’s context of belonging and nurture.

Sunday Mornings

We have two youth programmes available at 9.30am (during the Insight and Worship Service) staffed by an experienced team of volunteers.

Ignite

Ignite is our programme for children aged 5-10 (years 1-6). We are committed to providing a safe, fun and welcoming space for our children to connect with each other and with God. Children going to Ignite start off in the 9:30am Family Service and head to Ignite after the ‘Young at Heart’ segment of the service. Ignite runs on Sundays during school term times.

Connect

Connect is our programme for children aged 11-18 (years 7-13). We are committed to providing a safe, meaningful and welcoming space for our older youth to connect with each other and with God. Our goal is to get students connecting in meaningful relationships that will foster spiritual growth and conversation. Connect runs on Sundays during school term times.

mainly music

mainly music

mainly music meets in the Hall every Friday morning from 9.30am during the school term. This is a national “music and movement” group for preschoolers and their Mums, Dads or caregivers. Contact the Office ph: 855 7434 for more information.

Over the session time, your child will be learning and developing, starting on and building up their knowledge of colours and numbers, expressing their imagination, finding enjoyment in the educational moments, laughing at the puppets and participating in group activities. The content of the sessions has been selected so that the children will grow and the parents can take advantage of this opportunity to stop and focus on their children.

Foundational to the mainly music experience is the support and encouragement provided by our local volunteer team who are comprised of people from Chartwell Church. The focus is for families to find friendship and encouragement and for mainly music to be a highlight in their week.
